Young Carpenter’s Program
This program is designed to empower participants (ages 13-19) with the understanding of residential construction. The program will introduce various tools and their functionality, proper use of tools with proper maintenance of tools. The program will identify all of the components that comprise of constructing a small free standing residential unit, and will instruct on the proper procedures in residential construction.
At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to identify various tools and their functions, identify various components that comprise a small free standing residential unit, and obtain hands-on experience of residential construction. This program is also designed to acquaint each participant with confidence on being a builder. Our goal is to introduce participants to the vocational sector. The program will give insight on the many areas that comprise of residential construction, like the following:
Pre-construction planning
Electrical
Rough carpentry
Plumbing
Finishing carpentry
Heating and Cooling
Foundations
Weather proofing
Windows and doors
Landscaping
Siding
Interiors and designs
Roofing
